River rafting is an exciting and engaging activity for you and your family to enjoy while in Bali. You may be wondering, however, is it safe to take your kids?

Well fortunately, it’s very safe! River rafting in Bali is completely safe for all ages, and there are guides and safety precautions in place as you drift through the river.

To prepare your rafting trip with the family, here are some top tips to keep in mind.

Rafting in Bali

Choosing the right river

When you decide to go river rafting, you should consider carefully the body of water you plan on rafting in. Each river has its own character and difficulty. If you’re with younger kids, or want a beginner friendly experience, we recommend the Ayung River in Ubud.

Wear proper attire

Wearing the right clothes can make you feel more comfortable while rafting through the river. You are almost guaranteed to get wet, so bring an extra change of clothes!

Know the classifications

The classifications refer to the rapids of the river. Their rapids determine the behavior of the river and water as you raft on them. If you want a smooth ride you should stick with calmer rivers such as the Ayung River in Ubud. The Tegalalang River on the other hand, is much more suited for adults and thrill seekers.

Follow the guide instructions

While river rafting is an exciting activity, it’s still important to note that conditions can vary and change very quickly on the river. Follow the guide instructions, as well as all safety precautions, and you should be fine!
