Nyepi Day

This March is a perfect time to reflect upon our lives. Celebrate this thoughtful moment, amidst the green tranquil haven and discover the milky way on Nyepi night only at Mara River Safari Lodge.

Whilst local Balinese Hindus stay home to follow their religious rights and obligations, other residents find this time perfect for a Nyepi staycation. Mara River Safari Lodge offer special packages during this period as Bali comes to a complete standstill. With Nyepi itself happening on 3 March 2022.

Sprawling across the stretching African wildlife panorama, Mara River Safari Lodge has long-been a family favorite resort home to world-class facilities. With A spacious rooms, a neighboring Tsavo Lion Restaurant and world-class Bali Safari Park, an in-resort Water Play Zone, Mara River Safari Lodge has plenty to keep everyone busy come Nyepi in Bali here.

What should you avoid during Nyepi? Here are some of them.

  • Don’t wander out on the streets during Nyepi, do not start any engine or use motorcycle. Please stay indoors and enjoy Bali’s quiet time.

It is important to stand still within your accommodation area and not go outside: either by any motorbikes or even just on foot. There should be Pecalang: Balinese Traditional Policemen/ Watchmen, who actively patrol the surrounding to make sure that everyone is at home.

  • Try to make as little noise as possible and please don’t play your music out loud

For 24 hours you will see a different side of Bali. This is a good time to meditate and find your inner peace as the vibrant island falls into a completely peaceful and quiet state. Therefore, everyone should minimize any possible noise. Please take care of your children also so they won’t make too much noise. This could be challenging but please be patient.

  • Don’t light any fire and please keep the lights down to a minimum. Especially if you are staying nearby those who are performing the Nyepi rituals.

This is also important because many people will keep the lights off during Nyepi’s eve. Therefore, here you can see the beauty of the night quite sky.
